About

Updated June 4th, 2009

This blog started as a place for me to keep tracking of my readings and research while earning my MFA in grad school. In December 2008I completed my degree. Since I have taught as a visiting artist instructor at West Virginia Universities Division of Art + Design. Currently I work at WVU’s Web Services. As i start this new job, I hope to get back into the swing of things here at emilysquared. My hope is to continue the readings but as my life is shifting I think the direction of posts will too. Currently my plan is to post daily my brief questions and thoughts I have encountered day-to-day. It is likely that the discussions will somehow center on design or designed experiences as the design world is what makes my heart go pitter-pat. Cheers!

My name is Emily Frye and this is my blog. I am a MFA Candidate at West Virginia University. My area of emphasis is graphic design. Design is a complex and captivating field. I find myself constantly reading about it, so I started this blog as a way to keep track of what I am learning. This year on Emilysquared, I plan on making note of my thesis project, share my daily observations and adventures that come my way.

Previously, I am used this blog to share information that I was reading while developing my thesis proposal, as well as responses to class readings and daily ventures. I hope you enjoy!
